AL1 English collects only the account and learning information needed to operate the app, protect accounts, provide practice questions, record progress, support review of mistakes and manage future subscriptions.
Information We Process
- Account identifiers used for phone, Google and future Apple login.
- Student display name, selected avatar, learning progress, practice attempts, mistakes, mastery status, AL1 Points, streak and leaderboard-safe display data.
- Device information needed for account security, reliability and support.
- Purchase and entitlement status when commercial subscriptions are enabled.
- Support messages and information voluntarily provided when contacting us.
How We Use Information
We use this information to provide and personalise the learning experience, maintain account security, show progress, operate account deletion, support subscription status, troubleshoot problems and respond to support requests.
Data Storage and Service Providers
Account and learning data is stored using Supabase with Row Level Security. When subscriptions are enabled, payment processing is handled through Apple and subscription entitlement services. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. AL1 English does not store full payment-card details.
Leaderboard Privacy
The leaderboard uses a student-selected display name and avatar. It does not intentionally display phone numbers, email addresses or authentication identifiers.
Children's Privacy
AL1 English is designed for school-age learners and should be used with the involvement of a parent or guardian where appropriate. We limit collection to information needed for account and learning functions. Parents or guardians may contact us about a child's information or request account deletion.
Data Retention and Account Deletion
Information is retained while an account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. Users can request deletion inside the app from Profile > Delete Account. Deletion removes account-linked learning data and then deletes the authentication user, subject to limited retention where legally required.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls and protected database policies. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
Users may update their profile information in the app, manage subscriptions through Apple when applicable, request account deletion, or contact us with a privacy question.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the service develops. The revised date will be shown at the top of this page.
